No more killing of dogs and cats in the shelter!

To stop dogs & cats holocaust in Japan, we must take immediate action.

The grass-root organization, No-kill Dog & Cat Society in Japan, is a volunteer network based in Tokyo, Japan. The ultimate purpose of this society is to stop killing dogs and cats in the shelters in Japan and the rest of the world. We always share useful information with volunteers and supporters inside and outside Japan.

Every year, more than 100,000 dogs and cats are ruthlessly culled in the shelter in Japan (excluding some cities) only because they do not have their foster-parents. In fact, breeders haphazardly breed more dogs and cats in order to sell them to pet shops. However, any unsold dogs and cats are directly sent to the shelters run by local governments. Some owner relinquish their pets. Street dogs and cats are also sent to the shelters. Such dogs and cats writhe in agony in the gas chambers. We call this situation 'Dogs & cats (Animal) holocaust' in Japan.

To stop dogs & cats holocaust in Japan, we must take action urgently. Every day, innocent and healthy dogs and cats become the victims due to human commercialism and selfishness. Currently, to tackle with this societal issue, we are taking the following action:

1. We provide volunteers and supporters with the information about the reality of dogs & cats holocaust in Japan and possible solutions.

2. We are seeking any useful information from Japan and the rest of the world. We especially welcome any suggestion from foreigners.

3. We urge the Japanese government to stop killing dogs and cats and ban kill-shelter and incinerators right now.

4. We will collaborate with the government and our volunteers to build the no-kill shelters in Japan and take care of injured and/or elderly animals.

5. We are looking for the foster-parents who are willing to adopt the dogs and cats in the kill-shelters.

We truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Thank you.
